HDSlog is Log Analysis software for Geologists, Petrophysicists and Well Log Analysts. It is an updated version of HDS 2008, that uses the .NET framework. A lot of the back-end code has been rewritten with reliability and interactivity in mind, while maintaining backwards compatibility. All HDS 2008 database files are 100% compatible with HDSlog.

Main Menu
Main Menu is the entry point for all HDSlog applications. It allows you to view information about the currently active file, and launch all other HDSlog programs.
Import – LAS
Import – LAS is used to import LAS and other text files to an HDS database file. It supports importing multiple files as multiple database files or as multiple data sets in a single file. New data sets can also be imported into existing files.
Import – Miscellaneous
Import – Miscellaneous is used to import formations, perforations or surveys from text or excel files.
Cross Plots
Cross Plots generates common types of plots such as Lithology, Buckles/Hingle and Pickett. It also allows generating plots using custom curves and multiple linear regressions.
Log Plots
Log Plots generates a log plot using any selected curves. Any curve from the current file, with multiple settings for drawing, can be added to the plot. Custom templates with specific curves and their settings can be saved and retrieved quickly.
Petro Calc
Petro Calc calculates several different types of curves based on the parameters provided by the user. Both a Cross Plot and Log Plot can be used for easy data representation and selection. Default parameters are provided based upon the data, and templates can be saved, for quick interpretation. Custom curves can also be generated using custom code in small programs.
Pay Reports
Pay Reports is used to generate spread sheet Net/Gross pay data for each Formation zone using custom curve filters.
Quick Calc
Quick Calc is used to perform custom simple calculations using curve data to edit or create new curves.
Custom User Processing (CUP)
Custom User Processing, or CUP, is used to write, build and execute custom code for performing calculations using curve data.
Cross Section
Cross Section allows you to generate cross section plots which consist of multiple log plots that can be connected by formations and hung based on depth.
Export LAS
Export LAS is used to export an HDS database as an LAS or other type of text file.
Core Tools
Core Tools is used to add, edit and view Core data, convert Wire curves to Core curves, depth shift Core data and create Core cross plots with optional text to symbol support.
DeterMin
DeterMin is used to calculate deterministic models.
Batch Processing
Batch Processing is used to export, calculate or generate reports for multiple wells.
Data Trend Analysis
Data Trend Analysis is used to determine data trends between multiple wells.
Field Inventory
Field Inventory is used to compare data from multiple wells.
Edit – Baseline Shift
Edit – Baseline Shift is used to to shift the top or bottom baseline of a curve using comparison curves.
Edit – Cleanup
Edit – Cleanup is used to clean up visual curve data.
Edit – Complex Curve Adjustments
Edit – Complex Curve Adjustments is used to normalize a curve on a depth by depth basis, or create a Vsh curve from an input curve, such as Spontaneous Potential or Gamma Ray.
Edit – Copy
Edit – Copy is used to copy curves between data sets, or copy entire data sets to a new data set.
Edit – Curve Smooth
Edit – Curve Smooth is used to smooth visual curve data using a comparison curve.
Edit – Depth Shift
Edit – Depth Shift is used to shift the depth of curves either manually or using auto correlation based on other curves.
Edit – Input Curve Priority
Edit – Input Curve Priority is used to set the default input curves to be used for calculations.
Edit – Splice
Edit – Splice is used to splice together multiple curves or data sets.
Edit – Toolbox
Edit – Toolbox is used to perform other miscellaneous curve edits, such as creating Density, Sonic, and Neutron curves, re-scaling and integrating curves, calculating Mud Cake, Bit Size, Caliper, Sonde Error Temperature and Water Sample, converting Conductivity and Resistivity and calculating the derivative or average of curves.
Environmental – Bulk Density
Environmental – Bulk Density is used to make environmental corrections to Bulk Density curves.
Environmental – Gamma Ray
Environmental – Gamma Ray is used to make environmental corrections to Gamma Ray curves.
Environmental – Invasion
Environmental – Invasion is used to make environmental corrections to Invasion curves.
Environmental – Neutron
Environmental – Neutron is used to make environmental corrections to Neutron curves.
Environmental – Resistivity
Environmental – Resistivity is used to make environmental corrections to Resistivity curves.
Environmental – Rxo Mudcake
Environmental – Rxo Mudcake is used to make environmental corrections to Mudcake curves.
Environmental – Standoff
Environmental – Standoff is used to make environmental corrections to Standoff curves.
Shaley Sand Gas – Quick Look
Shaley Sand Gas – Quick Look is used to view Alger, Hester, Neutron/Sonic and Neutron Count rates for a well.
Unconventional Reservoirs
Unconventional Reservoirs is used to calculate TOC and reservoir data.
File Explorer
File Explorer is used to view and search for HDS database files, and select the currently active file.
Task Manager
Task Manager is used to view running HDSlog applications and send messages between them.
Login is used to log in to a Network installation.
